Recently retired, Ted had a private practice in adult and child psychiatry for over 30 years. Prior to entering private practice, Ted served on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Ted is currently a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and also serves on the faculty of the Irving Harris Program in Child Development and Infant Mental Health within the Division of Psychiatry. A Distinguished Fellow of both the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association,Â he co-authored the book, Emotional Expression in Infancy: A biobehavorial study, and has also written many professional articles and book chapters on various aspects of young children’s social and emotional development. Ted’s particular areas of interest have been emotional regulation and attachment processes in infancy and early childhood, the impact of early trauma on children’s social and emotional development, and the treatment of early childhood emotional disturbances.
